The unit in Telêmaco Borba (PR) resumes its operations after eight days of maintenance
Paraná –The Monte Alegre Unit, in Telêmaco Borba (PR), is starting gradual demobilization of the teams contracted for the Maintenance Shutdown, which began in late June, and restarting operations with compliance of all safety procedures.
The surrounding community may perceive some changes in odor and noises due to the restarting of activities as of Wednesday (5). Klabin reinforces that all the maintenance and restarting procedures are conducted in conformity with safety and environmental standards and regulations, and these variations do not represent any health risks to the public.
The Maintenance Shutdown is an annual compulsory procedure for companies working with pressure vessel machinery, such as boilers and digesters, under Regulatory Standard 13. The action is necessary for maintenance and adjustments to ensure the perfect functioning of equipment, as well as the safety and integrity of employees and the community as a whole.
In addition to maintenance, the shutdown enables the unit to make improvements, such as technological upgrades, always with the purpose of improving productivity and operational safety by adopting market best practices.
