The company is part of 1MiO – One Million Opportunities, a collaboration between the United Nations, governments, the private sector, and civil society to professionally engage individuals aged 14 to 29 across Brazil
JBS joins forces with 1MiO – One Million Opportunities, created by the UN and coordinated in Brazil in conjunction with authorities, the private sector, and civil society entities, with the aim of creating job opportunities and supporting the professional development of young people aged 14 to 29 in situations of social vulnerability. The Company’s goal is to promote the entry of new talents through the Young Apprentice program for up to 24 years old and other opportunities for young people up to 29 years old in its over 100 units throughout the country.
1MiO is an intersectoral strategy led by the UN, with the goal of promoting 1 million job opportunities for young people across the country. The initiative is especially targeted at minority groups or those in conditions of social vulnerability, whether due to ethnic-racial issues, being LGBTQIA+, income, housing, migratory status, or having physical or intellectual disabilities. Young people exiting the socio-educational system or victims of forced labor are also a focus of the initiative.
“Promoting opportunities for a better future for thousands of people and contributing to the economic growth of society, in a fair, equal, and dignified manner for young people and those at social risk, is a globally valuable commitment for JBS, as we are a people-centered food company,” says Fernando Meller, director of human resources at the company.
In addition to paid work, the company adheres to the rules of 1MiO established by the UN, which include ensuring young people access to education, connectivity, civic participation, offering professional training, and all the necessary support for entry into the world of work. All of this is led by JBS’s own People & Management teams, in partnership with qualifying entities. Positions are periodically advertised, and applications can be submitted through the JBS website: https://jbs.com.br/carreiras/
